India Celebrates 76th Republic Day: Parade Highlights Military Strength and Cultural Legacy | Watch LIVE

On Sunday, the iconic Kartavya Path hosted a grand parade as India celebrated its 76th Republic Day, highlighting the nation's military strength and unity.

The parade featured contingents from the Indian Armed Forces and Paramilitary Forces marching down Kartavya Path, near India Gate and the National War Memorial. A total of 18 marching units, 15 bands, and 31 vibrant tableaux were showcased.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial before the celebrations began.

President Droupadi Murmu hoisted the national flag at Kartavya Path, marking the start of the parade. Following the National Salute, the parade commenced and is set to last for 90 minutes. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is the chief guest for this year’s Republic Day celebrations.

A marching contingent and a band contingent from Indonesia also participated in the parade.

The celebrations began with the arrival of President Murmu and her Indonesian counterpart in the ‘traditional buggy’, a practice revived in 2024 after a 40-year hiatus.

This year’s celebrations highlight 75 years since the enforcement of the Indian Constitution. The theme for the tableaux is ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas’.

Two Param Vir Chakra awardees—Subedar Major & Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav (retd) and Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar (retd), both of whom fought in the Kargil War—along with Ashok Chakra awardee Lt Col Jas Ram Singh (retd), led the marching contingents and offered a salute to the President.

A total of 16 tableaux from various states and Union Territories, along with 15 from union ministries, departments, and organizations, showcased India’s cultural unity in diversity.
