On New Year’s Day, Pushpa 2: The Rule earned Rs 9.5 crore from the Hindi version and Rs 3.1 crore from the Telugu version at the domestic box office. The film's total nett domestic collection in India stands at Rs 1184.65 crore. Breaking this down by language, the Hindi version contributed Rs 774.65 crore, the Telugu version brought in Rs 330.53 crore, the Tamil version earned Rs 57.65 crore, the Malayalam version made Rs 14.14 crore, and the Kannada version grossed Rs 7.6 crore
On Tuesday, the makers of Pushpa 2: The Rule announced that the film had grossed Rs 1760 crore worldwide by Day 26. At that point, it was just Rs 28 crore shy of surpassing Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Over the past two days, Pushpa 2 earned Rs 20.85 crore in India, ensuring that its worldwide collection would have easily crossed the Rs 28 crore threshold needed to surpass Baahubali 2’s record.
Aamir Khan's Dangal currently holds the title of the highest-grossing film in Indian cinema history, having earned Rs 2070 crore worldwide after its release. The film's domestic collection reached Rs 387.38 crore, with a significant portion of its revenue coming from international markets, especially China. In contrast, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion directed by SS Rajamouli, made Rs 1030.42 crore in India and grossed Rs 1788 crore worldwide, highlighting a stronger domestic performance compared to Dangal’s overseas success.
Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to have a clear run at the cinemas until Pongal. The next big release in the South is Shankar’s Game Changer, which is set to hit theaters on January 10. Starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, Game Changer is being promoted as a pan-Indian release. It is expected that the film's release may impact the collections of Pushpa 2 at the box office.
